Hugh Colton was a prominent citizen of Uintah County. He was born to Sterling Driggs and Nancy Adeline Colton on January 11, 1901. He married Marguerite Maughn in 1925. He attended law school and practiced law his entire life. He also started the Marriott Corporation with his friend J. Willard Marriott. He served in World War II and served as Commander. He served as Uintah County and City Attorney. He was a cattleman and served on the Uintah and Utah Cattle Associations. He was honored as the Utah Cattlemen's Association Distinguished Cattleman. |
