Description |
The Westenskow Home at 757 Bullion Street (formerly 735 Bullion), purchased in 1948 from Clarence and Rose Schicketans. The property included 7.5 acres of land, 7 shares of Cahoon Maxfield Irrigation Company stock and about 250 chickens. The property had been used as a turkey and chicken farm prior to the Westenskows' purchase. Woodrow and Faye Westenskow raised their 4 children there, and Faye kept a full garden on part of the property. All of the Westenskow children attended Liberty Elementary School and remained in Murray to raise their own families. The acreage was divided and additional houses built on the property, at which the house number was changed from 735 to 757 Bullion St. (A longer history of the home is included with the image in the photo files.) |
