Scan of Marriner S. Eccles personal correspondence from May through December of 1945. The letters mainly touched on various private matters not connected with his work as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. Includes a letter dated 10 August 1945 from the Chamber of Commerce of Baker, Oregon, to the U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board protesting the board's denial of an application by United Air Lines to provide service to Baker, and correspondence resulting therefrom. And in a letter dated 21 June 1945 to a friend in Denver, Mr. Eccles reflects on the passing of President Franklin Roosevelt and his early impression of President Truman. |
