| Description |
Have here attempted to show how Capitol Reef Nat'l Mon. is located. At the left you have the east-west flank indicated, then in the center of the picture the canyon area, then the reef carries on in a southeasterly direction. Therefore, the reef from its front face would be "L"-shaped. Doubting Castle may also be recognized in this picture as the light-colored structure above the dark shadowed rock in the middle left of the picture. In the distance is the famous Henry Mountains some 50 or 60 miles away. |
