UHS Contest Play

The photographs were taken for the 1938 edition of the Uintah High School yearbook. It is on page 89. The subject of this page is the School Contest Play. The photographs at the top half of the page are of the Award of Merit and the Samuel French Award for the Ninth Annual Speech Tournament and Drama Festival at Brigham Young University. Royal Henderson was the stage manager. Kenneth Samuels received first place for boys' dramatic reading in class "B". The photograph in the bottom half of the page is possibly of the stage crew for the production. Barney D. White, the director, can be seen near the top of the photo leaning over the set the students are working on.
