Eccles to members of the State Bankers Association of Ohio on February 12, 1935, accompanied by two printed version of the speech, one published by the Huntington National Bank in Columbus, Ohio; the other by the Government Printing Office for the Congressional Record of Feb. 14, 1935, by request of Congressman Duncan U. Fletcher of Florida. The speech concerned the Banking Act of 1935, then being debated in Congress. Also scanned is correspondence between Governor Eccles and others (including the Ohio Bankers Association) leading up to and following the speech. |
