Show A postcard photograph of the Village of Shem in May of 1920. The photograph is taken on a high angle overlooking the village. The village sets on a semi-level grade of land at the base of a large steep grade hill. The dirt road leading into the village is visible and along the right of the dirt road is a fenced stable, a house to the right of the stable and further down the road is the Presbyterian chapel. Far to the left of the dirt road, in the foreground of the photograph is a shed and fenced pasture. There are a few other indeterminable structures both along the main dirt road and on the outskirts of the village in the distance. The barren landscape is rocky and consists of shrubbery and a few trees. |
