Description |
This image is Nelson Merkley Jr. home at 226 N. 1500 West. He started building this home in 1882 after he gave his two story home to this father, Nelson Merkley Sr. That home was located on the southeast corner of 1500 West and 500 North. This home was the first brick home built in the valley. Because of detoration and wear the family stuccoed the home in about 1953. It became the home of Asher and Birda Merkley and is now home to his grandson, David. This was the first farm north of main street on the east side of the canal. |
