Alma J. Johnstun was among the group that Brigham Young sent to the Ashley Valley to settle this section of the country. He married Lauretta Henry. He owned and operated a sawmill near Deep Creek. He built the Ashley Central Canal and hleped open the first coal mine. He was active in county government. He was born July 23, 1853 and died December 18, 1920. |
