Description | George Wardle was born at Leek, Straffordshire, England, on February 3, 1820. He married Fannie Rushton in Leek, Stratfordshire, England, two weeks before coming to America. He was a wheelwright by trade. He was one of the party that looked down on the valley of the Great Salt Lake on the morning of July 21, 1847, three days before the emigration party enter the valley. On October 17, 1850, he married Caroline Fisher on December 15, 1868. They came to the Uinta Basin in 1882. He was a leader in music in the Vernal Stake. |
