Wilbur Carlton Britt came to Ashley Valley in 1876 to prospect for gold. In Ashley Town he built a store and the first postoffice. He was a school teacher and was the first justice of the peace. He was prosecuting attorney at the time of his death. He was born September 22, 1849 and died November 18, 1894. |
