View east of Silver Reef, Utah. North end of Buckeye Reef in foreground. Burying ground at the base of the mountain. Christy Mill at right. Settled in 1866, silver was soon discovered in a sandstone ledge. By the 1880s the reef was mined out and the town abandoned. |
