Description |
May Jorgensen was born to William and Kitty Austin in Wales, England. She married Reuben Long in Duchesne; they later divorced. She married John Jorgensen in 1924. Mary was a prominent member of the community. She was involved in Ladies Aid of Kingsbury Community, BPW Club, and the Lady Lions Club. May ran the Bon Ton restaurant and the Vernal Hotel. In 1924 the Jorgensens acquired the Commercial Motel. They retired from that business in 1945. May also owned the building housing the Thurst Parlor. She was a gardener and had beautiful flower gardens. She had a beautiful voice and sang at 2,500 funerals over the years. May passed away May 21, 1969. |
