As of the year 2008, this species is categorized as "Endangered" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN); See: "http://www.natureserve.org/explorer/servlet/NatureServe?s=ELEMENT_GLOBAL.2.802511" for additional conservation data; All calls were recorded between 12:30 and 1:30 PM at a small lake in Alpine County, California, elevation 8,800 feet; Air temperature was approx. 65 degrees Fahrenheit, with sunny skies and very little snow left on the ground; Recordings are of a male frog at the edge of a slow drainage into the pond, partly in the water, recorded in the air; Local Time: Between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM
