A black and white photograph of Ernest Hemingway's boyhood summer home "Windemere", with many large trees nearby, was owned by his parents Clarence and Grace Hemingway, on Walloon Lake, just south of Petoskey, Michigan. The cottage and the area were frequent destinations for Hemingway who clearly derived inspiration for his writing from the locale and the people. |
