Image was scanned from color slide. Ippitsusai Bunchō, was Japanese artist in the ukiyo-e school, which depicted subjects drawn from everyday life. Ippitsusai studied with Ishikawa Yukimoto, a painter of the traditional Kanō school. He gained repute as a colourist, particularly in his painting of actors (nigeo-e, "portraits"). |
