Image was scanned from color slide. Caption is from photographer's notes on slide. Located in Kasamatsu Park on the north shore of Amanohashidate. A major temple in the area of Shingon sect and founded in 704, Nariaiji is no.28 among the thirty-three selected temples of Saikoku region (indicated on one of the banners). Amanohashidate is a pine-covered sand spit whose name means: bridge to heaven. |
