Bonanza Sheep Shearing Plant |
Description |
This sheep shearing plant is located near Bonanza. In the springtime, the sheep men rounded their sheep to the shearing corrals. Shearers, many of whom traveled through just to shear, pitched a tent and stayed there at the shearing plant for the duration of the shearing time. The sheep industry played a major role in the economy of the Uinta Basin. The corrals could have been built by the CCCs in 1938-1940. |
