Historically, conventional angiography has been considered the ""gold standard"" for the diagnosis of CVT. With continued technologic advances, however, noninvasive neuroimaging has become the primary method of diagnosing this condition. Both CT scanning and MR imaging can provide important information regarding localization, etiology, and severity of the disease process. |
