In conclusion, there is no final word on the wealth of experience writing A Writ of Arrogance has brought to me. I know I will write more. I will write another play. In the world of Literature and Drama, A Writ of Arrogance, by any standard is not a landmark, it is not even a milestone. But in my life, it looms large. In the course of a year, the characters I created took on life, they had their own philosophies, needs and idiosyncrasies. In some respects they became larger than life. I would encourage everybody to write a play in their lifetime, even if upon the embarkment of their journey they swear to never let another soul read it. Although none of the characters in this drama necessarily are reflections of the author, they are a part of me. A person can learn a lot from the characters he creates. |
