Title |
Free market parking reform: How to address rising costs & excessive parking |
Date |
2023 |
Description |
Parking takes up about 30% of land in commercial areas across the Wasatch Front, equal to nearly eight parking spaces for every car (Litman, 2023). Connective space including streets, sidewalks, grass, and bike lanes take up an additional 55%. With only 15% of land left for actual buildings, excessive parking crowds out housing or commercial developments and overall makes our cities more expensive and less enjoyable for all who live here. |
