The Hotel Vernal opened on June 28, 1947. The cost of construction was $350,000. It was financed by a group of stockholders. The new hotel had sixty guest rooms and inclued a barber and beauty shop. a fountain and coffee shop along with a resturaunt. Vernal's first radio station KJAM was housed in the basement. When the hotel opened it was said to be the finest small hotel in the United States. |
