Description |
The west side of Salt Lake City is made up of six neighborhoods which include Poplar Grove, Glendale, Rose Park, Westpointe, Jordan Meadows, and Fairpark. These communities are home to people from all walks of life and are the most diverse in the city. Along with such diversity comes varying wants and needs within the community. A continous division between the residents, community organizations, and government can lead residents feeling hopeless, disconnected to the community, and incapable of making their voices heard. Often, narratives the media portrays of the west side, which are mainly negative, disempower residents making them feel invisible, marginilized, and disconnected to their community. |
