Description Optic neuritis (ON) is an inflammatory condition affecting the optic nerves. The Optic Neuritis Treatment Trial (ONTT), a multicentre collaborative study carried out in the United States has been paramount in defining the clinical profile of optic neuritis1 but more recent studies in Japan, Taiwan and Singapore have reported that optic neuritis in Asians is different from that in the West. This prospective study from Singapore aims to further understand the pattern of ON in Asians.
