Description Coagulopathies are uncommon disorders characterized by a failure of hemostasis. The hemostatic balance is maintained by complex interactions between the coagulation system, physiological anticoagulants, the fibrinolytic system, platelets and the vessel wall. The coagulation cascade is undergoing constant low-grade activity to produce small amounts of thrombin.
