Title Paving the way to accessibility assessing Salt Lake City's bicycle network
Date 2024
Description Bicycling plays a critical role in connecting individuals to opportunities. However, many people don't bike in their neighborhood or city due to a lack of comfortable bicycle infrastructure. This report evaluates Salt Lake City's bicycle network with a focus on comfort and access to opportunity. The foundation of the report is a routing analysis that connects census blocks to many different types of destinations by routes that maximize comfort while minimizing distance. These routes are used to assess bicycle access to opportunity, or how comfortably individuals in different neighborhoods can reach amenities such as employment, education, healthcare, and more.
