| Description |
Pioneer Business Enterprise of Brigham City. The Mormon settlers cooperated in setting up a common enterprise where each one contributed their talents to various types of manufacture. Lorenzo Snow in charge of this enterprise. An extension of the tannery in 1870, the shoe factory soon after it was founded employed 30 workers who by 1877 had produced $132,000 worth of merchandise. |

"The pioneer spirit began in Brigham City back in 1853 when a group of Mormon Pioneer immigrants were sent with Lorenzo Snow to organize a cooperative venture to become self sustaining. In this harsh, mosquito infested land, they built farms and homes.
