Description |
A number of elderly patients with symptomatic diplopia were found to have stable, small angle esotropias, with no other contributing pathological findings and with minimal or no limitation or abnormality of eye movement. They all seemed to share a characteristic facies that included enophthalmos with deep periocular sulci. The objective was to better characterize this condition that we felt represented a distinct clinical syndrome suggestive of a benign involutional etiology. |
