Sophomore Angela Kaplar's quick start in the hurdles set the tone for the Utes early in the meet. Kaplar started off the day with a strong performance in the 100m hurdles clocking a time of 13.91. Her time is a new personal record by .03 seconds and ranks second all-time in school history. Freshman Rosalie Griffin has dropped a second off her 400m hurdles time in every race this season. She continued that trend on Thursday, posting a time of 1:03.42. In the 10,000m race, Rebekah Winterton finished with a personal record of 36:05, which ranks seventh all-time in school history. AuraLea Fain competed in the 10,000m and finished with a time of 37:30, respectively for the Utes. In the long jump, Brianna LeRoy finished with a mark of 16-4.75. The hammer throw was led by Anneli Stahl's throw of 170-7.25, which earned her fifth overall. Cynthia Sanchez (164-0.50) and Destanae Howerton-Davis (160-9.25) both qualified for the final round in the event. At the Cal State-LA Twilight, Candus Aiello finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 42-7.75. Nikkie Rudder (42-7.75) and Howerton-Davis (42-7.75) finished sixth and seventh places in the final round. In the discus throw, Rudder earned 10th place with a throw of 134-6.25. |
