Correspondence of Marriner S. Eccles with J. William Fulbright, U.S. Senator from Arkansas in 1974. Many of the letters relate to Fulbright's re-election campaign that year, and include letters from Eccles to numerous friends encouraging them to financially support Fulbright's campaign. Ultimately, Fulbright lost the primary election for the Democratic nomination. Includes a 7-page typescript of a draft proposal for the Fulbright Program, which funds scholarships for study overseas. |
