Description |
This recording contains episodes of At Home Together and Talent Showcase. At Home Together opens with Appalachian Cloggers dancing followed by a performance by Alvino Rey on banjo of "Maple Leaf Rag", Robert Peterson singing "They Call the Wind Mariah" and Billie Lucas singing "Buttons and Bows" while Eugene Jelesnik conducts a band. Jelesnik then meets with the Days of '47 Rodeo President Flip Harmon and 1979 Royal Court (Queen Cheer Hansen of American Fork, 1st Attendant Julia Larsen of Salt Lake, 2nd Attendant Miriam Johnson of Salt Lake) at the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum. Alvino Rey plays an unnamed song on slide guitar. Billie Lucas follows with "Falling In Love With Love" by Rodgers and Hart. Utah Governor Scott M. Matheson and his family give a special address. The episode of Talent Showcase begins at 26:00 and features the Free Fuel Singers & Musicians (TK Manwill, Linda Manwill, Alan Patton, Ken Tucker, Jim Jamming) playing "Rocky Top" with Alan Baer (President, Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada) assisting Eugene Jelesnik with host duties. Linda Manwill also sings Gershwin's "Summertime" accompanied by the band. |
