Description |
This paper analyzes if the wants and needs of the older adults that live within the community of Park City, Utah are being provided by the local senior center. To find this out, a survey was provided to volunteers aged fifty years or older and lived, at least part-time, in zip codes 84098 and 84060. The results showed how transportation was not an issue to attend the local senior center. Results also revealed how the majority of the participants taking the survey would like to use the gym, if it was a part of the senior center. Looking more into participation, there were more people that said they would change the name of the Park City Senior Center. However when given the choice to put their ideas down, the most popular keyword still was "senior." These findings show how much people would use their local senior center if there was an element of health. It is also revealed that the attendance of the current senior center is not because of the transportation or the name. Even though people wanted to change the name of the Park City Senior Center, the top keywords embraced the words that described aging. The information of the wants and needs of the aging adults in Park City, Utah, could lead to increased participation within their senior center in the future. |
