The information in the handbook was provided by a variety of sources. While the Administration on Aging Caregiver's Handbook was utilized, the majority of the format and information was provided by the North Carolina Caregiver's Handbook. While the Handbook is designed specifically for Utah, much of the text is taken directly from North Carolina's Handbook, with permission from publishers. The North Carolina Handbook was written by faculty from the Gerontology Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, in cooperation with staff from the North Carolina Division of Aging. The original publication and distribution, under the title Families and Eldercare, was supported in part, by a grant, number 04AM0417 from the Administration on Aging. Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, D.C. 20201. Grantees undertaking projects under government sponsorship are encouraged to express freely their findings and conclusions. Points of view or opinions do not, therefore, necessarily represent official Administration on Aging policy. The North Carolina Handbook was revised and reprinted by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Aging in 19978-98. It was supported by the North Carolina Alzheimer's Demonstration Grant, Grant #000176, funded by the Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources and Services Administration. |
