Subject Men; Trucks; Wool
Description Sheep men had to have a way of hauling their wool from the area. The Wilkins Trucking Company provided this for them. Aaron Wilkins, Victor Wilkins and Faron Wilkins worked together to get the wool from Vernal, Utah to Craig, Colorado, and then shipped to Boston, Massachusetts. The trucks were loaded with many as 100 to 140 bags per truck. The bags in this photo have the Bert Coleman brand. The sheep industry was an asset to the Uinta Basin and so was the Wilkins trucks. They also hauled many tons of Gilsonite from the Gilsonite mines in the southern part of the county.
