Description |
In a 12 month period: 21% of registered nurses and nursing students report being physically assaulted and over 50% report being verbally abused (The Joint Commission, 2016). Incivility is often overlooked and considered to be "normal" or "acceptable" behavior (Christie & Jones, 2014). The American Nurses Association has called for zero-tolerance of these behaviors (2015). |
