Description |
Eccles Mill and Lumber Yard, Ogden, Utah. Gift of M.J. Burson. (Utah General Depot, Ogden). This photo, one of several Ogden scenes given to the Utah State Historical Society by M.J. Burson of Ogden, shows the Eccles Mill and Lumber Yard, established in 1874. City directories for the 1880's locate the yard at 154-24th Street. Earlier listings placed it around the corner on Franklin Street (now Lincoln Avenue). The lumber dealership of John Stoddard and Sons, shown here at the Franklin Street address, was consistently listed at the same address as the firm of David Eccles. Both offered numerous lumber products, including tongue and groove flooring, pickets, moldings, boxes, and scroll sawing. |
