Description | A Cessna 170A was enroute from Ogden, Utah, to Grand Junction, Colorado when it crashed near the highway going to Flaming Gorge. The plane piloted by Jerry Koethe of Seatle, Washington, with limited visability and diminishing fuel, attempted to land on the access highway to Flaming Gorge. After successfully going under the high voltage powerline the plane skidded into a guard rail resulting in the loss of a wheel with additional damage occurring. The pilot and passengers were not injured. This is a Bureau of Reclamation photo taken by Friend B. Slote. |
