Description |
Landscape Arch spans 291 feet in clear. Photo by Frank A. Beckwith Delta, Utah March 1934. Height 112 feet. This arch is called Landscape Arch because it looks as if it were a scene upon a canvas, with trees painted in and a setting of rock behind. Note the shadow of the arch underneath it. Caused by wind-blown sand, not stream action. In one place the arch is so thin that as one said, "If a horse fly were to light on it, the arch would crash." |
