| Description |
The old Pioneer Electric Power Co. in Ogden constructed in 1896 was located in the Old Mill area, near the intersection of 12th St. and Harrison Blvd. Research indicates that it was constructed primarily to help alleviate unemployment as well as furnish some of the first electric power in this area. Cement for the building was made in Germany & shipped by way of Cape Horn to San Francisco then by rail to Ogden. |
