Description |
Once the site of the Newhouse mining town. Settled in 1905 by Samuel Newhouse for workers of the Cactus Mine. Newhouse ordered no red-light district, saloons, or gambling in his mining town. The town declined when the mine stopped producing and become an area for sheep men and cattlemen. What remained of the town become a center for motion picture filming, appearing in the movie Covered Wagon. |
