Description |
John Jenkins farm. Later owned by son Burton and grandson Richard Jenkins. Sheep have always been important in this family. Located on the east edge of Newton. John Jenkins was one of the original settlers of Newton. He had two log cabins which have not surved [survived], as they were replaced by three rock homes for his three families. His third rock house located just out of this photo to the right, was purchased by him in 1884. William Ricks was the original owner. |
