Description Modern recombinant DNA techniques provide powerful new tools with which to investigate the pathophysiology of a variety of neurological diseases. This review will briefly examine some of the more important molecular biologic techniques; some of the recent applications of these techniques to research on neurologic disease; and some potential clinical applications of these techniques.
