Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Journal History containing references to Utah Indians. Elder John Brown gives his account of the first confrontation between Indians and Mormon pioneers in Utah during which the Indians allegedly stole cattle. The chief of the tribe involved claimed that the perpetrators were not acting on behalf of the entire tribe and encouraged the pioneers to punish the individuals responsible for the theft |
