The main ore body is a disseminated deposit in schist and porphyry formed by secondary enrichment. Its existence was proven by churn drilling, and is at present one of the largest proven copper deposits in the world. The ore body itself covers 205 acres with an average thickness of 121 feet, and occupies a definite belt which has a northwest direction. Its length is approximately 5000 feet. The width varies, being about 2000 feet at the wets and 500 feet wide at the east, narrowing down irregularly from both ends to a few feet at the east, narrowing down irregularly from both ends to a few feet in the center. The thickness of the body varies greatly along the line of lode, ranging from a few feet up to 470 feet thick. |
