Description |
Typewritten copy of the "Journal of the Southern Indian Mission", originally written by Thomas D. Brown. Copied from the original in the possession of the L.D.S. Church Historian's Office in Salt Lake City, Utah. The journal was written in the winter of 1857-1858 from earlier manuscript journals as a formal report for the mission. There are almost daily entries from April 14, 1854 to May 20, 1855, but events after that are only summarized. Appended to the journal itself are three letters to Brigham Young, and one letter from him. Transcriptions, notes, and copies are undated. |
