Description |
In 1962 a 44 year-old horse-powered machine was still preforming for Allen Jones and his son, Darrell as they cut lumber. The horse is attached to a long pole and walks in a circle providing a "one horse power motor" that turns a wheel system that drives a circular saw, drill or any other attachment. The machine was purchased in 1917 by George and Ray Reynolds and used for drilling while they prospected. James Jones purchased it from the Reynolds and it was inherited by Allen Jones. The Jones farm is approximately 1314 North 2500 West, Vernal, Utah. |
