Description |
The Rules of the Game was originally presented in two forms, which are brought together in the video. The first piece of the project consisted of a handball court constructed against the U.S.-Mexican border wall in the neighborhood of Colonia Libertad in Tijuana, historically one of the main crossing spots for illegal immigration into the U.S. The second component involved two Tijuana high school soccer teams playing against one another while two Boys Club basketball teams from San Diego competed simultaneously on the same basketball court. The project is designed to juxtapose the rules of each game, as well as the movements, manners, and behavior of both the spectators and players participating in each sport. |
