Final Score |
The University of Utah Men's Golf team finished in third place at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational after shooting even par (856) through three rounds. This is the team's fourth consecutive top-10 finish and their third top-three finish on the year. The team began the two-day tournament by shooting 2-under (286) through the first 18. The hot start was something the team was looking to build on in the second round to be played later that day and they were able to do just that. The Utes shot a stellar 14-under (274) to help them finish the first day of play in a third place. On the final 18, the team shot 8-over (296) to shoot even par for the tournament and finish in third place. Two Utes placed inside the top-10 as the team continues to gain experience with only two tournaments to go until the Pac-12 Championships. Junior Blake Tomlinson led the Utes shooting 4-under (210) and placed in a tie for second among the field. His best round was round two where he shot 5-under (67) and had two eagles. He has placed in the top-30 in every tournament this season with this weekend being his second top-three finish after winning the Pat Hicks Invitational earlier in the year. Fellow junior Tristan Mandur also had a strong tournament shooting 1-under to help him tie for eighth. Mandur shot even par in both the first and last round and shot 3-under (69) in the second round to secure his spot in the top-10. True freshman Jesper von Reedtz and Javier Barcos both shot 5-over (219) and tied for 30th. Reedtz and Barcos both birdied five holes in the second round to shoot 4-under (68) and 3-under (69) respectively. Rounding out the team was senior Mitchell Schow who tied for 38th among the field after shooting 7-over (221). Schow's best performance came in round one where he shot 2-under (70). |
