Description |
Phillip and Caroline Crouch Stringham built this one and one-half story, brick on stone Victorian and Greek Revival house in 1896. The brick was fired at the co-operative Maeser brickyard run by Stringham and his neighbors. The Stringhams came to Vernal in 1879 and received a patent to this land in 1887. They planted fruit trees, kept honey bees, established a sheep ranch, taught school and had twelve children. Phillip was elected school superintendent and Uintah County Recorder. Other owners include Edwardd Wilson, Lawrence and Vesta Virginia Adams, and the Adam's daughter, Lylis and her husband Jay Anderson. |
