Description |
Leo Thorne (1883-1969) had and interest in early Fremont Indian artifacts, which he collected around the Basin. Many employees of musems and colleges came to view his collection. When Leo was young he became good friends with a young Ute boy. They played in caves near his home in Dry Fork. This friendship sparked Leo's interent in gathering and collecting aritfacts. He collected items until the federal regulations were enacted preventing artifact removal. |
